We can retrofit an Electrically folding trailer coupling using genuine Mercedes Benz parts. Integral servomotors mean the ball head extends, retracts and locks in place fully automatically – keeping hands clean. This is the Retrofit ex-factory solution (optional extra Code 550). Precision tailored to the vehicle. A 13 pin electrics connection is mounted in the side of the bar itself so is very neat and tidy. A button is installed on the underside of the tailgate to extend/retract the tow-bar.
On vehicles with MBUX an extra item is added to the vehicle ‘quick settings’ to operate the towbar from inside the car. We will also add an option into the camera screen to assist in lining up to your trailer hitch. Vehicles from 2024 with NTG7 will also get a menu listing for ‘Bike Rack, Trailer or Caravan’ which can be adjusted to relevant speed limits etc.
The towing limit for this vehicle is 3,500KG but to achieve this will require extra cooling. Without the extra cooling the towing capacity is reduced to 60% so is still safe to tow up to 2100kg without modification. Full 13 pin connectivity allows for use with caravans as well as trailers and all circuits are connected so suitable for fridges and Alko tow hitches. (Adapters available for 7 pin trailers)
The quoted price includes VAT, installation, all parts required and programming with Mercedes Star Diagnostics.
Using genuine Mercedes parts, the entire installation is completed to the highest standard and when finished will be identical to the factory specification.
Whilst we are working on your car, you can make use of our customer lounge which includes WiFi, a spacious desk and comfy sofa. We also provide tea, coffee and cold drinks.
Alternatively, we have a courtesy car available if booked in advance (Please note the courtesy car has a manual gearbox).
