CLS, E-Class, S-Class, SLK and SL

NTG1

Approximately 2002–2008

Single CD/DVD slot.
The DVD-ROM navigation module is in the boot.
Common option codes: SA 527 COMAND and SA 523 Audio 20.

A-Class, B-Class, C-Class, CLC, GL, ML, R-Class and Vito/Viano

NTG2

Approximately 2004–2008

Single CD slot.
The DVD-ROM navigation drive is built into the head unit.
Common option codes: SA 527 COMAND and SA 523 Audio 20.

A-Class, B-Class, CLC, CLS, E-Class, GL, ML, R-Class, SL, SLK and Vito/Viano

NTG2.5

Approximately 2008–2011

An SD-card slot sits above the CD slot.
Hard-drive navigation and built-in Bluetooth.
An optional CD changer was available.
Common option codes: SA 512/527 COMAND and SA 523 Audio 20.

S-Class and CL

Approximately 2005–2009

A PCMCIA card slot sits behind the fascia flap.
Bluetooth phone pairing is not built in.
Common option code: SA 527.

S-Class and CL

NTG3.5

Approximately 2009–2013

An SD-card slot sits behind the fascia flap.
Built-in Bluetooth phone pairing.
Common option code: SA 527.

C-Class and E-Class

NTG4

Approximately 2007–2011

C-Class: the COMAND monitor is motorised; Audio 20/50 has a cover in the same position.
E-Class: fixed screen; Audio 20 is 5.8 inches and COMAND is 7 inches.
COMAND has a PCMCIA slot and NAV button. Audio 20 has no navigation; Audio 50 APS has navigation with the smaller screen.
Black fast-forward and rewind trim.
Common option codes: SA 525 Audio 50 APS and SA 527 COMAND APS.

A-Class, B-Class, C-Class, CLA, CLS, E-Class, GL, GLA, ML, SL and SLK

NTG4.5 and NTG4.7 — Audio 20

Approximately 2012–2015

5.8-inch display and chrome fast-forward/rewind trim.
Most UK cars use Becker Map Pilot navigation, apart from some early E-Class W212/C207 models.
Common option codes: SA 523 Audio 20 and SA 510 CD changer.

A-Class, B-Class, C-Class, CLA, CLS, E-Class, GL, GLA, ML, SL and SLK

NTG4.5 and NTG4.7 — COMAND

Approximately 2012–2015

7-inch display, chrome trim and hard-drive navigation.
The fascia has an SD-card slot.
Online functions are identified by the globe symbol.
Common option codes: SA 512 with CD changer and SA 527 COMAND.

A-Class, B-Class, CLA, CLS, E-Class, GLA, GLE, GLS, SL and SLC

NTG5.1 — Audio 20 and COMAND

Approximately 2015–2019

The fascia has an SD-card slot.
COMAND uses an 8.4-inch screen; Audio 20 uses a 7-inch screen.
Silver bars and a carousel-style interface.
Common option codes: SA 522 Audio 20 and SA 531 COMAND.

C-Class, GLC, V-Class, X-Class and AMG GT

NTG5.2 — Audio 20 and COMAND

Approximately 2015–2019

The SD-card slot is in the armrest.
COMAND uses an 8.4-inch screen; Audio 20 uses a 7-inch screen.
Carousel-style interface.
Common option codes: SA 522 Audio 20 and SA 531 COMAND.
These systems do not have built-in Apple CarPlay or Android Auto; an integration module is required.
