Whilst we have previously retrofitted many Parktronic systems to various different Mercedes using all genuine MB parts we were recently tasked to not only add Parktronic but also include Park Assist so that the car would steer itself into a parking space. After some research it became apparent that no extra parts were required, just extra diagnostic work to align the car’s electronics. As the car has electric power steering as standard the ability for it to steer itself is already present. The car can now steer itself into a parking space (parallel parking) with perfect precision leaving the driver to simply control the speed and direction of the car.
