Apple CarPlay and Android Auto by Diagnostic Computer. By using specialised software on our computers we can activate in-built software. On some NTG5.1, NTG5.5 and MBUX models we are able to achieve the same results as factory fitted. We need your car at our workshop because this involves physically connecting to your car.
This process involves changing the settings within the existing head unit and simply adds new menus into the ‘Connect’, ‘Tel’ or ‘Store’ section. This allows a wired connection for CarPlay and Android Auto (Wireless connectivity can be accessed using an adapter – (Details here)
On C class 2018 to 2020 with the bigger widescreen and ‘NO CD’ (this is paramount) CarPlay and Android Auto can be activated. (NTG5.5)
On E/CLS class cars 2018 to 2020 with Audio 20 code ‘506’ (this is paramount) CarPlay and Android Auto can be activated. (NTG5.5)
On E/CLS/GLE/GLS class 2015 – 2019 we can update software and then activate CarPlay Android Auto. This procedure take approx 2 hours (NTG5.1)
On A/B/CLA class cars 2018 to 2019 with MBUX touchscreen, we can introduce the options into the ‘Store’ menus that will allow you to purchase the official activation from Mercedes for an additional £299. This update takes 4-5 hours in our workshop to complete!
Vehicle warranties are NOT affected as we are not adding hardware nor modifying outside of vehicle spec.

On vehicles with MBUX we are not able to activate CarPlay/Android Auto other than using this official route. Any unofficial activation will simply be ‘Undone’ the next time the car goes online to run its updates.
Compatibility
This process is suitable for cars with NTG 5.5 or MBUX only.
C Class 205 – 2018 to 2019
GLC Class 253 – 2019
On these models the NTG5.5 uses the larger widescreen monitor and has NO touchscreen and NO CD player.
E class 213 – 2018 to 2021
E class Coupe/Cabriolet 238 – 2018 to 2021
CLS 257 – 2018 to 2021
On these models the NTG5.5 uses the larger radio screen. Models with the smaller radio screen are NOT suitable for this activation.
A Class 177 – 2018 to 2019 With MBUX Touchscreen
B class 247 – 2018 to 2019 With MBUX Touchscreen
CLA class 118 – 2019 With MBUX Touchscreen
Whilst we are working on your car, you can make use of our customer lounge which includes WiFi, a spacious desk and comfy sofa. We also provide tea, coffee and cold drinks.
Alternatively, we have a courtesy car available if booked in advance (Please note the courtesy car has a manual gearbox).
Approximate Installation Time: 1 -2 Hours except A/B/CLA class which takes 4-5 hours.

Seamless activation on my 2018 Mercedes E class, looks and works flawlessly on the widescreen monitor ICE system. Been using now for a year with no issues, also works well with a wireless adapter. Highly recommended.
