For many earlier Mercedes models, it’s the in-car technology -not the styling or performance- that shows the vehicle’s age. Retrofitting a modern aftermarket head unit like the Pioneer SPH-DA77DAB is a smart way to bring your Mercedes up to date with current infotainment features that original factory units may not offer.
We install the Pioneer unit using a vehicle-specific fascia kit that integrates seamlessly into your Mercedes dashboard, replacing the original head unit. An interface is also fitted to retain steering wheel controls for volume and phone functions.
Please note: while radio info won’t appear in the instrument cluster screen, all other vehicle data will remain visible. If your existing COMAND unit handles time/date syncing, we’ll update the coding to allow manual adjustment after removal.
For vehicles without a factory DAB aerial, we install a discreet digital antenna in the top-left corner of the windscreen, providing clean, reliable reception without disrupting the interior.
This retrofit gives you full Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, allowing real-time navigation, voice control, and access to your favourite apps, all via the responsive Pioneer touchscreen interface.

The quoted price includes installation at our Hertfordshire workshop, all parts, and VAT. For vehicles with upgraded audio systems, this also includes a fibre optic adapter (assuming the existing amplifier is functional). If your amp has failed, alternative options are available—please contact us to discuss.

Whilst we are working on your car, you can make use of our customer lounge which includes WiFi, a spacious desk and comfy sofa. We also provide tea, coffee and cold drinks.
Alternatively, we have a courtesy car available if booked in advance (Please note the courtesy car has a manual gearbox).
